Indication: Linax 5mg is used for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus, specifically to improve blood sugar control in adults, often in combination with diet and exercise.

Pharmacology, Dosage & Administration: Lijenta (linagliptin) is a DPP-4 inhibitor that works by enhancing the body’s natural ability to lower blood sugar levels. The usual dose is one tablet (5mg) once daily, with or without food.

Interaction: Lijenta may interact with other diabetes medications, particularly those that lower blood sugar. Inform your doctor of any other medications you are taking.

Contraindications: Contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to linagliptin or any component of the formulation.

Side Effects: Common side effects include upper respiratory tract infections, headache, and sore throat. Serious side effects like pancreatitis, severe allergic reactions, or kidney issues are rare.

Pregnancy & Lactation: Use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended unless absolutely necessary, and should be discussed with a healthcare provider.

Precautions & Warnings: Caution is advised for patients with a history of pancreatitis, kidney problems, or heart failure. Regular monitoring of blood glucose is important.

Overdose Effects: Overdose symptoms may include hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). In case of overdose, seek immediate medical attention.
