Direction of Use:
Use as prescribed by a registered medical practitioner. For external use in the eyes only. Wash hands before and after use.
Indication:
Optimox Ophthalmic Solution is indicated for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible organisms.
Pharmacology:
Moxifloxacin is a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone that inhibits bacterial enzymes DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are essential for DNA replication, transcription, and repair, leading to bacterial cell death.
Category:
Prescription-only antibiotic eye drop.
Dosage & Administration:
Instill 1 drop in the affected eye(s) 2–3 times daily or as directed by the physician. The usual treatment duration is 5–7 days.
How to Use:
Tilt your head back and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
Hold the dropper above the eye and squeeze out a drop.
Close your eye and gently press the inner corner of your eye for 1–2 minutes.
Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination.
Interaction:
No significant drug interactions have been reported with topical ophthalmic use. However, avoid concurrent use with other eye medications unless advised by a physician.
