Description

Cef-3 DS 400 mg Capsule contains Cefixime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, used to treat various bacterial infections.

Ingredients:
Each capsule contains 400 mg of Cefixime.

Indication:
Cef-3 DS is indicated for treating infections caused by susceptible microorganisms, including:
Upper respiratory tract infections (e.g., otitis media, pharyngitis, tonsillitis)
Lower respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia)
Urinary tract infections
Uncomplicated gonococcal infections

Pharmacology:
Cefixime inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death.

Dosage & Administration:
Adults and children over 12 years: 200-400 mg daily, either as a single dose or in two divided doses, depending on infection severity.
Children under 12 years: Dosage should be adjusted based on body weight and clinical condition.
The typical treatment duration is 7 days, extendable up to 14 days if necessary.

Interaction:
No significant drug interactions have been reported with Cefixime.

Contraindications:
