Icykool Max Cream

Description
This cream is the dual action topical pain reliever and ideal for fast, long-lasting pain relief from sore muscles, backache, muscle cramps and arthritis.
Methyl salicylate relieves pain by a counterirritant action. When rubbed on the skin it produces mild irritation and is absorbed to an appreciable extent.

Indications This cream is used to relieve pain of muscle aches and sprains, rheumatism, arthritis and similar conditions.

Dosage
This medication is for use on the skin only. Do not use on scraped, irritated or broken skin. To use, apply a thin layer to the affected area and rub it gently. Do not cover with a tight bandage or use with a heating pad as this may cause skin damage. The cream is applied liberally to the painful area, with gentle massage until absorbed. This treatment is repeated as necessary.

Contraindications
Allergy to salicylate or sensitivity to any of the components. Application to broken skin or raw surfaces is contraindicated.

Precautions
In other illnesses, allergies (especially to aspirin or aspirin-like drugs), this cream should be used c a u t i o u s l y. Keep away from children to avoid accidental poisoning. The cream should be kept away from eyes, mucous membranes and broken or irritated skin. If skin irritation develops, discontinue use. Therapy might be hazardous for patients with impaired kidney or liver function or for smaller children. Menthol may give rise to hypersensitivity reactions including contact dermatitis (inflammation of the skin).

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation
This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding.

Adverse Effects
Redness or irritation may occur, especially in persons with sensitive skin. If this continues or skin becomes itchy, swollen or you develop a rash, notify your doctor. If applied to large areas or broken skin, the medication may be absorbed.
Ringing in the ears, nausea or vomiting may also occur.

Overdose
No overdose related problem yet reported.

Pharmaceutical Precautions
No special storage or handling precautions required, although it is recommended that every medicine be kept in a cool, dry place in accordance with good pharmaceutical practice.
