Ingredients:
The active ingredients usually include a combination of Diuretics such as Furosemide, Hydrochlorothiazide, Spironolactone, or Chlorthalidone, depending on the specific formulation.

Direction of Use:
Take the tablet as prescribed by a physician.
Swallow whole with water, preferably in the morning to avoid nighttime urination.
Can be taken with or without food.

Indication:
Used to manage conditions like hypertension (high blood pressure), edema (fluid retention) associated with heart failure, kidney disease, and liver cirrhosis.
Helps remove excess water and salts from the body.

Pharmacology:
Diuretics increase urine production by affecting kidney function, reducing sodium and water retention, which lowers blood volume and reduces blood pressure.

Should not be taken late in the evening to prevent frequent urination at night.

May interact with ACE inhibitors, NSAIDs, corticosteroids, lithium, digoxin, and other antihypertensive drugs.
Can cause electrolyte imbalance when used with potassium-depleting medications.

Contraindications:
Severe renal failure, anuria (lack of urine production).
Hypokalemia (low potassium levels), hypotension, or severe liver disease.
Known allergy to sulfonamide-derived drugs (if applicable).

Common: Dizziness, dehydration, frequent urination, muscle cramps, and electrolyte imbalance.
Serious: Hypotension, irregular heartbeat, kidney dysfunction, and allergic reactions.

Pregnancy & Lactation:
Should be used with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Some diuretics may cross the placenta or be excreted in breast milk, affecting the baby.

Precautions & Warnings:
Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels is essential.
Avoid excessive intake of salt and potassium supplements without doctor’s advice.
May cause dizziness; avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if affected.

Overdose Effects:
Symptoms include severe dehydration, hypotension, confusion, weakness, and irregular heartbeat.
Immediate medical attention required in case of overdose.
