Maxrin 0.4 mg contains Tamsulosin Hydrochloride (0.4 mg), an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor blocker used to treat Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). It helps relax the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, improving urine flow and reducing symptoms of BPH.

Direction of Use:
Take once daily, preferably 30 minutes after the same meal each day.
Swallow the capsule whole with water; do not crush or chew.
Indication:
Treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) symptoms, including:
Difficulty urinating
Weak urine stream
Frequent urination (especially at night)

Pharmacology:
Tamsulosin selectively blocks alpha-1 adrenergic receptors in the prostate, bladder neck, and urethra, leading to smooth muscle relaxation and improved urine flow.
Dosage & Administration:
Usual dose: 0.4 mg once daily after food.
Dosage may be adjusted based on patient response.
Interaction:
May interact with antihypertensives, causing a drop in blood pressure.
Increased risk of hypotension with PDE5 inhibitors (e.g., Sildenafil).
Caution with CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., Ketoconazole, Erythromycin).
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Tamsulosin.
Severe liver impairment.
Patients with a history of orthostatic hypotension.
Side Effects:
Common: Dizziness, headache, abnormal ejaculation, nasal congestion.
Serious: Severe hypotension, priapism (rare but serious).
Precautions & Warnings:
Caution in patients with low blood pressure or a history of fainting.
Should not be used in women and children.
Can cause Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome (IFIS) during cataract surgery—inform the surgeon before surgery.
Overdose Effects:
Symptoms include severe dizziness, fainting, and hypotension.
In case of overdose, seek immediate medical attention.
