Description
Ingredients:
Each film-coated tablet contains:
Dexibuprofen 200 mg – the active (S)-enantiomer of ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
Direction of Use:
Take the tablet by mouth with water, preferably after meals to reduce gastric discomfort.
Do not crush or chew the tablet.
Always use under the guidance of a physician.
Indication:
Relief of mild to moderate pain, including:
Musculoskeletal pain
Dental pain
Headache
Menstrual cramps
Postoperative pain
Treatment of inflammatory conditions such as:
Osteoarthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis
Ankylosing spondylitis
Pharmacology:
Dexibuprofen is the active (S)-enantiomer of ibuprofen and has stronger anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity than racemic ibuprofen. It inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, primarily COX-2, reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are responsible for inflammation, pain, and fever.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults: 200–400 mg orally every 6–8 hours as needed.
Maximum daily dose: Should not exceed 1200 mg/day unless directed by a physician.
Children: Use only under medical advice.
Interaction:
Increased risk of GI bleeding with anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin) or corticosteroids.
May reduce efficacy of antihypertensives (e.g., ACE inhibitors, beta-blockers).
May increase serum levels of lithium or methotrexate.
Avoid use with other NSAIDs or aspirin.
Contraindications:
Known hypersensitivity to Dexibuprofen, ibuprofen, or other NSAIDs
Active peptic ulcer or GI bleeding
Severe liver or kidney impairment
Severe heart failure
History of NSAID-induced asthma, urticaria, or allergic reactions

Diarrhea or constipation
Dizziness or headache
Rare but serious:
Gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers
Renal impairment
Allergic skin reactions (rash, urticaria)
Liver enzyme elevation
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Pregnancy: Not recommended, especially in the third trimester, due to risk of fetal complications.
Lactation: Use with caution; may be excreted in small amounts in breast milk. Consult a physician before use.
Precautions & Warnings:
Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration.
Caution in elderly patients due to increased risk of GI and renal side effects.
Monitor liver and kidney function with prolonged use.
Avoid alcohol to minimize GI irritation.
Overdose Effects:
Symptoms may include:
Nausea, vomiting
Drowsiness
Tinnitus
GI bleeding
Rarely, metabolic acidosis or renal failure
Treatment: Supportive care and symptomatic treatment; no specific antidote.
